BT Pay Bulletin No.7
27.03.07
NEW OFFER: 4% REJECTED.
BT yesterday improved its pay offer to an increase of 4% consolidated on base pay
with effect from 1st April 2007. The offer flows through to those allowances linked
to pay, including London Weighting.
The CWU acknowledged the move by BT but rejected the offer as it still does not
meet the requirements to ensure there is no cut in your pay in real terms.
BT made clear that while there are further urgent discussions to take place on the
remaining differences between the negotiators, unconsolidated pay remains an
important part of those discussions.
The CWU reiterated that unconsolidated pay has no place in any pay settlement
and that our members deserve a consolidated pay settlement that does not cut
pay in real terms.
Commenting on the latest position, CWU lead negotiator Jeannie Drake said,
"We are nearing the end of the negotiation process and there is still a very
significant difference between negotiators. While BT has moved, we are still facing
a potentially serious dispute situation."
