To continue our progress
towards a self-sustaining Monteray organisation, we need to develop and support
increasing numbers of Monteray CWU representatives.
To assist the development
of a representative’s structure, CWU HQ will be preparing publicity for CWU
noticeboards to hopefully attract interested Monteray members. Additionally,
briefing material on the role of CWU Monteray representatives will be produced
to assist branch officers in their discussions with Monteray members. We will
also be seeking to reach agreement with Monteray on a statement outlining the
role of CWU representatives in the Company.
To support Monteray
members who either already are, or who have expressed an interest in becoming,
CWU representatives, we wish to offer training to improve skills and
confidence. However, we need a minimum number of students to make such courses
viable. Branches are asked to liaise with members in this category to assess
levels of demand – and to pass details of all those interested to my office at
CWU HQ.
Yours sincerely,
Simon Sapper
Assistant Secretary
