Telewest - NT&IT Regional Networks Operations (Non-Supervisory Grades 4 & 5 Copper, Access And Last Drop Engineers) : Ballot Result

On behalf of the Union’s Telewest Executive Team, I am pleased to announce that there has been a very successful outcome of the ballot for extended recognition.  The results are reproduced below:

“Do you want the CWU to be recognised for the purposes of collective bargaining on your behalf?”

YES

317

94%

NO                                                     17 }          6%

Spoilt ballot papers                            2 }

Total ballot papers  received

336

Total ballot papers despatched

758

The ballot was conducted by Popularis - the Independent Scrutinizers who report that they are “satisfied that the arrangements made with respect to the production, storage, distribution, return and other handling of the voting papers used in the ballot, and the arrangements for the counting of the votes, included all such security arrangements as were reasonably practicable for the purpose of minimising the risk that any unfairness or malpractice might occur”.

This excellent result could not have been achieved without the hard work of individual members in Telewest as well as the support and efforts of local Branch Officers and Telecom Organisers.  To this end, I would like to place on record the appreciation of the TFSE.
